"Due to injuries and other reasons during the second half of last year my world ranking had gone down below 450 and it was my prime objective to regain the same at least to a level whereby I could enter the Wimbledon Qualis", said Aisam in a telephonic interview with APP from London on Monday.

He said due to his recent achievements in various tournaments including Dubai, Kuwait and Germany now he has bettered his ranking to 250 which has enabled him to enter the Wimbledon Qualis.

"I hope to do well in this championship though I am currently struggling with a groin problem. What I need is prayers of people of my country to do better", he added.Aisam has been having very good form during the last months.

First he made a remarkable achievement of winning the Double Crown in Dubai (both Singles & Doubles titles) followed by Kuwait open Singles title.

Later, he showed huge performance in Europe where he defeated four Davis cup players of leading tennis playing European countries in the Qualis and main draw of ATP Championships in Halle, Germany and Hertogenbosh, Holland.

These included ATP Top 100 and Danish No 1 Davis Cupper Kenneth Carlsen who was handed a 7-6, 7-6 defeat by Aisam followed by Serbian Davis Cupper and current world No 7 in Doubles N Zimojic who too got a 7-6, 7-6 defeat.
